Energy has become the lifeline of present civilization. India has developed a strategy to make Power for All by 2019. Hon'ble Prime Minister, India has a vision to add 1,00,000 MW of solar power by 2022 by raising the solar renewable purchase obligation (RPO) targets to 8% from the current level of 3%.
In line with the national commitment, my Government is also committed for harnessing Solar Energy potential in the State for which the State Government has notified an attractive Solar Power Policy-2016 aiming to create conducive atmosphere for the investors to invest in the State in Solar Energy Sector. The Policy envisages installation of solar energy of 4000 MW by 2022. Under this policy, various incentives like Industrial status, exemption in change of land use approval, electricity duty. besides free wheeling and banking facility, exemption of T&D. cross subsidy charges have been provided.
The State Govt. has made the installation of solar power plants mandatory on Residential houses. Institutions, Govt. Buildings, Commercial Establishments, Educational Institutions etc. With this the potential available on rooftops of buildings, institutions and industries as well as residential sector shall also be utilized for generation of 1600 MW Solar Power by installation of solar rooftop power plants.
I congratulate the Department of Renewable Energy, Haryana & HAREDA for preparing Haryana Solar Power Policy-2016 with a motive to create conducive atmosphere for the investment in the State. I am sure the investor would find it immensely useful.
